Main duties:
- Provide timely, good quality political research advice, analysis and information on a range of topics, legislative and policy areas.
- Obtain, understand, analyse, present and communicate the required information and statistics.
- Proactively develop and maintain knowledge of specific agreed subject areas so that you are able to anticipate and meet the information needs of the Members, including by being aware of the latest information sources available within the subject areas with which you are involved and closely following the Welsh Government’s policy and legislatives programmes within these subject areas.
- Provide briefing notes and information to assist the Members with preparations for internal and external meetings, public events, media appearances.
- Draft policy position statements and draft responses to relevant correspondence within agreed timescales to assist the Members with responding to enquiries from the public and other stakeholders. 

Essential knowledge and experience:
- Relevant experience in a research or information environment.
- Experience of working directly with influential, high profile people in a busy environment.
- Understanding of, and commitment to, combating discrimination and promoting equality of opportunities and the Nolan Principles of Public Life.

Essential qualifications:
- A degree or equivalent in a relevant subject, or
- NVQ Qualification level 3 or 4 or equivalent in a relevant subject
