Overview:
Plaid Cymru wants to recruit a highly motivated and organised individual to help organise the party’s campaigning work ahead of Senedd Cymru elections. The successful candidate will be able to lead, motivate and organise a wide range of local volunteers and activists; liaise with local groups and organisations; and will be able to communicate effectively and concisely both verbally and in written form. Knowledge of modern campaigning techniques is required as well as an understanding of Plaid Cymru and its policies.

Job Title: North-east Wales Campaigns Organiser
Location: Denbighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham areas
Plaid Cymru staff operate a hybrid pattern of remote working and office working.
Type of Contract: 0.8 FTE (four days per week)
Flexible - Plaid Cymru is happy to discuss other forms of flexible working with any applicant who wished to take on this role on a part-time or job share basis.
Fixed Term Contract until 29 May 2026
Line Manager: Head of Campaigns
Salary: Band 3 (£25,167-£33,706) pro-rata
Appointments are usually made at the lower end of the scale
Working Hours: 30 hours per week, with the need for occasional evening and weekend work. Plaid Cymru operates a flexible working hours system. The post offers 28 days holiday per year with additional privilege days. (pro-rata)
Purpose of the role:
Plaid Cymru wants to recruit a highly motivated and organised individual to help organise the party’s campaigning work ahead of Senedd Cymru elections. The successful candidate will be able to lead, motivate and organise a wide range of local volunteers and activists; liaise with local groups and organisations; and will be able to communicate effectively and concisely both verbally and in written form. Knowledge of modern campaigning techniques is required as well as an understanding of Plaid Cymru and its policies.
Main Responsibilities
• Organising campaigning activity and voter ID (street stalls / door to door)
• Running local campaigns and increasing engagement
• Organising voter registration and postal votes
• Implementing digital communications plan for constituency and social media campaign
• Arranging local events
• Supporting local fundraising activities
• Ensuring effective communication with members and supporters
• Planning local visits and meetings for candidates
Key Skills & Experience
Essential:
• The ability to work on your own initiative and within a team
• Proficiency in ICT, particularly in social media, and an ability to learn how to use the kinds of software that are central to political campaigns (for instance the Canva design package, databases, and contact management software such as Nationbuilder)
• Good communication skills e.g. to be able to draft short accessible text for a variety of platforms
• Strong and demonstrable organisational skills
• Sound judgement and a good understanding of what it means to work as part of a team in a pressured or political environment
• The ability to work with and motivate volunteers
• Relevant experience of working under pressure and to tight deadlines
Desirable:
• A driving licence
• An ability to work in both Welsh and English
