The Role

As a Young People Officer, you will lead initiatives to connect young people with Eryri National Park.

Driving youth participation, education and career opportunities, you will lead the creation and implementation of the Eryri Youth Manifesto. This will ensure young people’s voices are amplified through the establishment of a Youth Forum and other engagement opportunities.

You will also oversee the enhancement of the Young Rangers Scheme, ensuring its growth and accessibility and developing a new trainee and apprentice programme.

Collaborating with local organisations, you will expand outreach to underserved youth groups and foster educational and career pathways within the park.

Additionally, you will:

- Act as the central contact for educational inquiries
- Promote youth programmes through public presentations, reports and social media
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including risk assessments

About You

To be considered as a Young People Officer, you will need:

- The ability to communicate in Welsh and English
- Experience working with young people and establishing, organising and delivering programmes of youth engagement
- Experience working in partnership with a range of agencies and organisations in the field of youth work
- Experience monitoring and evaluating the broad outcomes of youth engagement
- The ability to lead and manage work programmes
- An understanding of and familiarity with the National Park’s purposes and special qualities
- To be educated to a degree level in a relevant subject or have equivalent experience
- A full, valid driving licence

Please note, occasional evening, weekend and Bank holiday work will be required.
