Purpose of Post
• Support the work of delivering the sustainable tourism priorities of the Gwynedd and Eryri 35 strategy for the benefit and wellbeing of the people, environment, language, and culture of the area
• Support the coordination of the Gwynedd and Eryri sustainable tourism partnership. Circulating information amongst partners, businesses, community groups and visitors on its delivery.
• Assist with the work of promoting Gwynedd as a tourist destination and administrating the service's information data systems.
• Ensure that the people of Gwynedd are at the centre of everything we do.
Responsibility for Resources e.g. staff, budgets, equipment
• Responsible for data systems and the recording arrangements of projects
Main Duties
• Support the work of delivering on the sustainable tourism priorities of Gwynedd and Eryri 35 by dealing with and responding to enquiries and providing information bulletins. Organise and attend meetings/seminars and supporting the administration of the Gwynedd and Eryri 35 Sustainable Tourism Partnership.
• Lead with the work of monitoring and collection of information on national tourism research models and the performance management plan and the Gwynedd and Eryri 35 Sustainable Visitor Economy Strategy.
• Responsible for providing and circulating reports deriving from the research and respond to applications for information and county tourism data.
• Responsibility for the administration of applications for brown and white road signs in Gwynedd.
• Responsible for developing and implementing individual projects within the remit of the service as well as projects deriving from the priorities of the Gwynedd and Eryri 35 sustainable visitor economy Strategy.
• Assist with the work of researching, promoting and inputting information to the Eryri Mountains and Coast tourism website and social media tourism networks and respond to enquiries stemming from those platforms.
• Attend meetings and exhibitions as and when needed from time to time outside usual office hours.
• Participate in training and development activities to maintain professional development.
• Work in a way that promotes equal opportunities and environmental sustainability.
• Responsibility for self-development.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety rules in the workplace in accordance with the responsibilities noted in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Council’s Health and Safety Policy.
• Operate within the Council’s policies in relation to equal opportunities and equality.
• Responsibility for managing information in accordance with the Council’s information management standards and guidelines. Ensure that personal information is treated in accordance with Data Protection legislation.
• Commitment to reducing the Council’s carbon emissions in accordance with the Carbon Management Plan, and to encourage others to act positively towards reducing the Council’s Carbon Footprint.
• Undertake any other reasonable duty which corresponds with the salary level and responsibility level of the job.
• Responsible for reporting any concern or suspicion that a child or vulnerable adult is being abused.
Special Circumstances e.g. the need to work unsociable hours, special working arrangements etc.
• Attend meetings and exhibitions occasionally in the evenings or on weekends.
