Grŵp Deddf are looking to appoint a Regional Welsh-medium Education Promotion Champion to raise awareness of Welsh-medium education across the South-East Wales region to a variety of audiences (parents, pupils, councillors and others), to share news and information on social media and via conventional media about related issues (such as consultation on Welsh-medium provision, adult classes, community events etc) and to provide quarterly reports on activities, which will be circulated to the partner organisations.

Regional Welsh-medium Education Promotion Champion
Grŵp Deddf are looking to appoint a Regional Welsh-medium Education Promotion Champion to raise awareness of Welsh-medium education across the South-East Wales region to a variety of audiences (parents, pupils, councillors and others), to share news and information on social media and via conventional media about related issues (such as consultation on Welsh-medium provision, adult classes, community events etc) and to provide quarterly reports on activities, which will be circulated to the partner organisations.These reports will also be used to support and monitor the progress of the local authority partners against relevant Welsh in Education Strategic Plans (WESPs) and 5-year Welsh Language Strategy targets.
The post will be organisationally based with Menter Caerffili for the purposes of governance, office space, payroll etc. Operationally the post will be undertaken via a combination of office-based and home-working, with some meetings across the region via Zoom/Teams or in person.
A number of research and resource projects are already underway, to provide the successful candidate with ready-made tools to undertake the role. They will also have the support and experience of link officers from each of the partner organisations.
The post initially is funded until 31.03.24 with the possibility of extending the role, and the partners are open to the consideration of a secondment to the role as well as a formal appointment.

Short-listing will take place the following week and the candidates informed as soon as possible afterwards. The interviews will be held in the week commencing 27th February 2023.
