Intergenerational Practice Steering Group Member
Intergenerational Practice Steering Group Member
Overview:
We would like to develop intergenerational practice in Wales. Do you have the knowledge and passion to help us?
Welsh government strategy promotes the integration of communities and generations to help foster a more resilient and healthier Wales for all generations to thrive.
However, since the dissolution of the Cymru Center for Intergenerational Practice in 2009, coordinated and sustainable intergenerational activities in Wales have not progressed at the same pace as other countries.
It is time that we regained momentum for sustainable practice in Wales. If this is of interest, why not apply to join our steering board.
Description:
The purpose of the steering board is to provide a clear vision for sustainable intergenerational practice in Wales. The objectives are to:
1. Bring together knowledge from diverse sectors and professional backgrounds to support sustainable practice.
2. To prepare the business case and strategy for intergenerational practice.
3. Decide upon, and take the necessary actions, to establish a structure that is financially and operationally sustainable.
Please note that the steering group is not a special interest group for those interested in intergenerational activities or research. The steering group has a time-limited strategic focus with the intention to establish a sustainable structure for intergenerational work.
Steering group membership
We are seeking members who can provide leadership and advice to support the development and growth of intergenerational practice in Wales. Knowledge and experience in some of the following areas are needed:
· Finance and business management
· Non-profit organization formation and governance models
· Legal practice
· Sustainable funding opportunities
· Welsh government policy
It is anticipated that membership of the steering board will not exceed 12 months. Monthly meetings will be held online, or where feasible in-person. Members will be responsible for the delivery of realistic actions within an agreed time frame.
