Summary
We’re looking for an experienced communications and marketing specialist to encourage supporters to visit, join, donate and volunteer, and to promote a much-loved charity.
You’ll report directly to the Assistant Director for Consultancy in Wales and manage a team of 4 direct reports.
Based at any of our hubs in Wales, this is a full-time position, however we’re open to considering applicants looking for part-time work with a minimum of 4 days per week.
As part of your application, please include a cover letter highlighting your level of fluency in Welsh.
Internally, you’ll be known as Communications & Marketing Consultant.
What it's like to work here
The Trust cares for many special places across Wales – from spectacular mountains, coast, and countryside to some of the country’s finest castles, houses and gardens.
You’ll be part of the Trust’s internal consultancy: a flexible resource of specialist skills and expertise. Working with a multidisciplinary team of experts, including curators, fundraisers, surveyors and project managers, you’ll help make things happen.
As this role covers Wales, your contractual place of work will be the nearest National Trust consultancy hub to your home. Our hybrid policy lets you balance home and office working with site visits. Expect to be on-site 20–40% of your week.
What you'll be doing
You’ll lead our communications and marketing team in Wales – delivering our strategy, promoting our heritage, building a distinctive Welsh voice, increasing visits and supporting local teams.
You’ll lead content creation across channels to bring places to life. You’ll coach and mentor local team members, improving their communication skills, knowledge, and confidence.
Your work will spark conversations, give compelling reasons to visit, and raise awareness of the Trust’s mission.
You’ll collaborate across the Trust, aligning plans, creating content for owned, earned and paid channels, and measuring impact.
