Job Description

We are looking for people with the life experience, skills and motivation to build relationships with children, young people and to get alongside them and help them make the changes they need.

Over two years as a Graduate Trainee Social Worker with Conwy, you will work within social work teams and study for a master’s degree at Bangor University.

As a Graduate Trainee Social Worker with Conwy, you will:

- Receive a full-time salary whilst being supported to undertake the Master’s degree in social work.
- Work with experienced social work teams and have opportunities to work in different social work services.
- Be supported and managed by a Social Work Team Manager and a Social Work Practice Learning Coordinator.
- On successfully completing the course, gain a permanent job as a qualified Social Worker with Conwy.

You will need to meet the Social Work | Bangor University entry requirements:

- 2.2-degree classification or higher (or likely to achieve in 2025).
- A minimum of 3 months* (FTE) relevant social care or equivalent experience.
- Offers for places on the course are based on a satisfactory interview of applicants that meet the admissions criteria.
- Speaking & Listening Welsh language skills required.

It is also a requirement that all students accepted onto the programme successfully complete an Enhanced DBS check, and are able to register with Social Care Wales, and maintain their registration throughout their studies.
