Title: Finance Officer

Hours of work: 15 hours

Salary Range:   SCP 5 PT 12 £26,421

Pension:  17% of annual salary to Medrwn Môn’s approved pension scheme

Place of Work:  Office based, Medrwn Môn, Town Hall, Bulkeley Square, Llangefni, LL77 7LR

Responsible to: Chief Officer

Overarching Responsibility

• Medrwn Môn’s Finance Officer will be responsible for all financial aspects of the organisation.
• They will manage the budget, prepare financial reports, and ensure that all financial transactions are conducted legally and ethically
• To be the main point of contact for finance enquiries within Medrwn Môn

Main Responsibilities

The duties will include but not be limited to:

• Developing and maintains financial systems- to ensure that that all invoices are paid on time, that grant payments are received and that the finance system reflects the transactions within the correct accounting period and correctly coded in the system – including account code, cost centre, project code and grant funder code.
• Managing the budget: this includes forecasting future income and expenses, creating budgets and balance sheets, and ensuring that spending is within budget limits.
• Preparing financial reports: financial reports provide an overview of the company's financial status and performance. These reports will be used to make critical business decisions, assess risk, and secure financing.
• Conducting financial transactions: overseeing all financial transactions, including issuing payments, collecting debts, and investing money.
• Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and laws: must comply with all relevant economic rules and regulations. This includes ensuring that financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
• Using accounting software: this is to keep an accurate record of all internal and external business financial transactions and perform financial audits wherever necessary.
• Establishing budgets and forecasting future cash flows- to allow for future planning and grant applications required outside of core funding.
• Preparing Financial Management reports and documents - for quarterly review at the Board
• Preparing all information to be sent to Payroll on a monthly basis.
• Complying with Medrwn Môn’s policies and procedures

The post holder may be required to undertake any other duties that fall within the nature of the role and responsibilities of the post as detailed above.

Person Specification

The postholder should have demonstrable experience of working in a busy office environment, excellent attention to detail and experience of managing a demanding workload with competing deadlines. 

An effective communicator who can make decisions and recommendations regarding the administrative functions of Medrwn Môn. An excellent standard of written and verbal communication is essential alongside the ability to maintain an enthusiastic, ‘can-do’ attitude. Essential and desirable skills, abilities, experience, knowledge and special requirements for the post of Senior Administrator
