They are now looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Welsh Language Advisor to join their team in Wales. This is a fantastic opportunity to use your Welsh language expertise to make a real impact on how people across Wales connect and communicate.
As a Welsh Language Advisor, you’ll contribute to how Ofcom’s Welsh language services are delivered, and you will be involved in a variety of work. You’ll translate and proofread content from English to Welsh for various platforms including websites and social media. You’ll manage the end-to-end translation process for Ofcom publications, coordinating with internal teams and external translation providers. You’ll also publish Welsh content online, test user journeys, and ensure quality assurance. In addition, you’ll maintain accurate records of translation projects and support financial forecasting for translation costs. You may also support bilingual events and presentations, including arranging simultaneous translation when needed.
They’re looking for someone with a translation qualification, excellent written and spoken Welsh, strong translation and proofreading skills, and experience publishing Welsh content across digital platforms. You should be confident managing multiple projects and deadlines, and comfortable working with both internal and external stakeholders. A flexible, proactive approach and a passion for improving services through innovation are essential. This would be an ideal role to gain experience and develop skills within the Welsh Language sector.
