Learning and Work Institute (L&W) is an independent policy, research and development organisation dedicated to lifelong learning, full employment and inclusion. We are focused on the big questions such as, how can we help improve living standards and tackle the cost of living? How we help more people into good quality jobs? How do we help more people to develop their skills in a changing jobs market?
This is an executive role leading L&W’s work in Wales, reporting to and working with the CEO to set and drive an ambitious vision. We have made a real difference to lifelong learning and employment policy and practice and want to continue to do so, further increasing our impact.
The role holder will need to lead the process of identifying the priorities we should focus on in Wales, securing funding from a range of sources, ensuring we deliver high quality work, and making sure this has impact by holding relationships with key stakeholders including politicians, policymakers, media and practitioners. In doing so, you will be leading a small team based in Wales and working across the organisation as a whole.
This post is also an important member of our Senior Management Team, so leadership skills and a commitment to working collaboratively across the organisation are vital. This is likely to include leading on specific pan-organisation initiatives as well as helping to lead the organisation as a whole and working with our Board and Wales Strategy Group.
